The installation originates from the permeating visual impact of neon lights in supermarkets, an effect that has always stirred the artist’s imagination. The title takes us directly into the spirit of the artwork: the childish play with the light switch leads to a deeper reflection on the antithetical concepts of presence and absence, order and disorder. By moving the lights from their rigid and distant position and by piling them up on the floor, the installation presents itself as a night-time bravado, not devoid of a dire sense of ending.
